Seibert (1908- ) was Chairman of the Citizen's Task Force and a professor of history at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo. He also served as Vice President for Academic Affairs from 1956 until his retirement in 1973.

Russell J. Seibert was a horticulturist, botanist, and director of Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. He received his Ph.D. in botany from George Washington University in St. Louis. Water lilies were his original area of research interest, and Dr. Seibert had a long association with Shaw Gardens in St. Louis.
